Brentwood is a suburb of Perth, named after a town north-east of London in England. This was the birthplace of John Bateman Junior who adopted the name for his homestead. Subdivision of the area was begun by the State Housing commission in the early 1950's and the name was adopted at the request of the Bateman family.
